oh. my. freakin. goddess. you will not even believe how fucking amazing my h-ween campaign is turning out! i mean...amazing. i saw some of the first "finished" work yesterday, and it's blowing my mind. it's amazing too, my audio designer and i wrote some of the music from the ground-up for the "trivia," and we did it before even having seen the full animation. so yesterday, for the first time, we put the music with the new animations, and what happens? times out perfectly. - both the "trivia," and our spooky channel id. we were absolutely amazed!

of course, part 1 of the big test happens this afternoon: approvals. it goes to my boss first, then to her boss. i personally think she's gonna love it, but it's always an element of "unknown" that's uncomfortable, especially when we're all (the artists and producers) are already so happy with the creative. you have to tow the line of knowing your stuff may get all meddled with and jacked up, or you may get lucky and your higher-ups will barely have any fixes (if any) at all. it's the nature of being in a "corporate" creative environment, and i'm realistic about it. but i'll never ever get over the "day of approvals" jitters. i don't even get stage fright, i get "approval fright" instead.

what the pluck?

absolutely tired and delirious from an exhausting work day, G and I were driving home last night, and it was already near dark. - you know...that time of day when your eyes will tend to mess with ya a bit? - er...at least, the time of day when mine do!

so we're driving past one of our many neighborhood churches, with the friendly neighborhood church marquee saying-of-the-moment.

what the marquee said:
"Jesus said to be like children, not act like children!"

what my eyes saw:
"Jesus said to be like chicken, not act like chicken!"

i'm sure my chicken-loving filmmaker friend Michael Green will appreciate this story...i need to email it to him. heh!
